Four K League representatives in Daegu FC, Pohang Steelers,
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and reigning continental champions Ulsan
Hyundai took to the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League
midweek with three securing passage to the
quarterfinals. Ryan
Walters and Matthew
Binns look at all four matches and roundup all the
action.
Tuesday
night saw K League leaders take on J.League leaders as Ulsan
Hyundai battled it out with Kawasaki Frontale to progress on
penalties, while fortune did not favour Daegu as the Sky Blues let
their lead slip to fall to Nagoya Grampus.
Wednesday, meanwhile, saw Pohang Steelers stun Cerezo Osaka 1-0 to
move to the next round while reigning K League 1 Champions Jeonbuk
Hyundai Motors made hard work of a severely depleted BG Pathum
United side, forcing their way through on penalties and raising
plenty more questions of their recent displays in the
process.
Then,
Matthew and Ryan go over this weeks correspondence in the Eulji
Lewis Mailbag.
