Ryan Walters is joined by Matthew
Binns for a two man booth edition of the podcast with
plenty on the docket. They begin with a look back at the two-legged
Team Bento vs Team Kim Hak-bum friendly that took place last
weekend and what takeaways (if any) they gleaned from the matches.
They discuss who impressed, who may have played their way onto the
Olympic squad, and some potential squad choices for Paulo Bento to
make in the future.
The second segment shifts focus onto K League's hottest team, the
Pohang Steelers. Ryan and Matthew discuss what's on the line for
Pohang this weekend, what a win would mean, and whether or not they
can pull it off. They then welcome in Paul
Neat for his exclusive interview with Pohang's second-top
scorer, Aleksandar Paločević. The midfielder discusses the
career year he's having so far, AFC Champions League, and what the
derby means to him.
Focus shifts to Ulsan Hyundai in the third segment where Matt and
Ryan debate whether or not the Horangi can get the win in such a
crucial match. Recent history is both for (outscoring Pohang 7-1
this year) and against (losing on the final day last season) them
heading into the match. To help preview the game, and get some
player insight, Paul Neat sat down with Ulsan
defender Dave
Bulthuis. The two discuss the mood in Ulsan at the moment, ACL
this and next season, and that match from last
year.
Finally, Ryan and Matthew both hop into a brief Eulji
Lewis Mailbag with questions about Won Du-jae and Song
Min-kyu, the K2 playoff field, and the goalkeeper ban once again.
All that and more in this edition of the K League United
Podcast.
