Ryan Walters is joined by Peter
Hampshire and Todd
Wilde once again to cover as much ground as possible in
what's set to be a very busy week for Korean
football. In the first segment, the three recap Round 8 in K1 and
go over some of the major talking points as the transfer window
gets closer to officially opening. They also briefly preview their
marquee matches in Round 9 including a relegation Gyeongin
derby, and potential fireworks in Gwangju and Daegu.
The second segment sees Matthew Binns and Dan Croydon go back and
forth previewing the match of the weekend with
second-placed Ulsan Hyundai hosting rivals Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
They discuss what's changed since 2019, tactics, new signings,
whether or not the best defense can stop the best attacker.
In the third segment, Ryan, Pete, and Todd go over the third round
of the FA Cup including which lower league sides are still in it,
the potential upsets, and which sides to look out for. They then go
through the entire slate of games and (foolishly) pick a winner in
each match.
Lastly, the Eulji
Lewis Mailbag had questions about coaching vacancies (with
some rather big names bandied about), what's wrong at Incheon,
Seongnam's hot start fading away, and whether or not empty stadiums
are starting to affect teams. All that and more in this jam packed
edition of The K League United Podcast.
